React Animated Background Components

Auroras, grids, noise, particles, glows and flowing gradients. A background is the one element that fills the whole viewport and never stops moving, so keeping its cost down matters more than the look. These lean on CSS and compositor layers and avoid per-frame layout work.

35 components, 32 of them free to install without an account.

  • A flowing aurora background — large blurred color blobs drift slowly via transform, with optional grain overlay and mouse tracking.

  • A mesh gradient background — five soft radial-gradient color points drift slowly via transform, weaving into a flowing mesh.

  • An interactive particle field — particles drift freely and link up when they get close, with a cursor that repels or attracts them, drawn on canvas 2D.

  • A canvas background of beams streaming continuously along a diagonal path, with palette, angle, glow, and cursor-driven acceleration.

  • A canvas grain overlay that flickers frame by frame, in fine / coarse / vintage textures, adding film-like noise to gradients and images.

  • An interactive dot grid background — a full-bleed regular grid where dots near the cursor scale up and get pushed away, then ease smoothly back.

  • A fluid wave background — a per-pixel multi-layer sine wave field (a software shader) computes a flowing gradient, with optional mouse tracking, grain, and several palettes.

  • A sweeping spotlight background with three built-in looks — sweeping light cones, a rotating radar, and a static stage beam — that can track the cursor.

  • A background meteor / meteor shower effect, with glowing trails and twinkling stars drawn on canvas 2D.

  • GlobeFree

A self-rotating, interactive WebGL-style globe (GitHub-style), simulated with a canvas 2D point cloud, arcs, and an atmospheric glow.

  • A dotted world map / connection diagram with procedural animation, drawn on canvas 2D, with intercontinental arcs and endpoint pulses.

  • A swirling vortex wave background where particle streamlines converge on the center — a good fit for CTA sections.

  • A retro grid background scrolling in synthwave-style perspective.

  • A Linear-style section header lit by a focused light cone, with the cone and its light bar unfolding on reveal.

  • A twinkling starfield background with configurable density and color.

  • A full-bleed box grid background that highlights cell by cell on hover, leaving a fading afterglow behind the cursor.

  • Procedurally generated branching lightning with a glow, drawn live as a storm background by a canvas 2D fractal algorithm.

  • A parallax starfield galaxy background with cursor interaction, drawing layered stars and nebula bands on canvas 2D.

  • A hyperspace warp-travel tunnel animation, with star streaks jetting out from the vanishing point and leaving afterimage trails.

  • A reflective liquid chrome / flowing metal surface drawn live on a 2D canvas, with specular striping and optional mouse ripples.

  • An animated background in the retro aesthetic of ordered dithering noise.

  • An interactive physics ballpit — gravity, walls, and ball-to-ball collisions all simulated live on canvas 2D.

  • Volumetric light rays pouring in from above or the side, swaying and breathing as if in a light breeze.

  • An iridescent shifting-wave shader background — a canvas 2D approximation of an iridescence shader, with optional mouse response.

  • A card-sized warped spacetime grid background, with beams from all four sides streaming into the depths of the tunnel.

  • A Matrix-style falling character glitch stream — a curtain of bright glyphs on a dark base, drawn purely in Canvas 2D.

  • A smoothly merging liquid blob (metaballs / ferrofluid) background.

  • A decorative background of SVG topographic contour lines slowly drifting and morphing.

  • Canvas particles drifting with links between neighbors, converging toward the cursor as it comes close.

  • Large blurred gradient orbs floating slowly past each other for a soft ambient background.

  • Light pulses flowing along a circuit-board trace diagram — a decorative background with a technical feel.

  • Seasonal falling background: sakura petal, maple leaf and snowflake presets, per-particle tumbling and sway with wind turbulence, adjustable density and wind, optionally accelerated by scroll.

  • Halftone background React component: a continuous halftone dot background whose density shifts with scroll progress and whose dots swell near the cursor, drawn with CSS gradients.

  • A field of cards drifting at different depths in 3D space: pointer parallax varies by depth, scrolling pulls the whole field back and scatters it, and distant cards blur for depth of field.

  • A silk ribbon background drawn with Canvas 2D: several bezier ribbons sway slowly over a dark ground, with gradients across their width simulating a glossy sheen; no WebGL.
